Hi, Navaeh & Ashlee!
How did you start with your vintage fashion brand, Not Ur Friend?
We both grew up with very different views of fashion and style; being from two very different worlds. We bonded over our love for fashion & sustainably, but also thinking consciously about pricing and functionality of items, thus Not Ur Friend.
The idea that you can rehome items that already have so much story to them is our favorite part. We live in a thriving thrifting/ resale city and want to give everyone the opportunity to shop second hand. We love the idea of personally handpicking your items out for you.
Can you share with us your fashion inspos?
We have a lot of small resale shops in our area that deserve so much more recognition; and overall Depop sellers that work so hard for their viewers! We can only dream of having our own storefront! House of Hershey is a good friend that has had such a great come up, she’s a huge inspo right now!
What's your favorite thing about the resale business?
You can always find what your looking for! The resale community is such a growing population, and we feel like people love sharing items abs their history!
Are you committed to building your brand full-time?
We dream of making this our full time! We both have full time jobs and spend every other second working on NUF. It’s our goal to make it full time.
So tell us-
Why are you excited about a livestreaming show on Galaxy?
Interacting personally with our buyers is HUGE for us. We want to know as much as we can when styling people. It would also be amazing to make friend and connections with people in the same realm!
Any tips for someone just getting started?
Consistency is key; even if you aren’t seeing results. We are still such a fresh company and we are learning new things every single day; but showing up every single day has motivated us to keep going even when the results aren’t there.
